Title: Senior HR Operations Specialist (PEO & Benefits)

POSTION REQUIREMENTS 

The Senior HR Operations Specialist (PEO and Benefits) is responsible for the day-to-day execution of HR operations with a strong focus on PEO coordination, benefits administration, and payroll quality control. This role serves as the primary operational owner of the PEO relationship and provides hands-on employee support while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a high-quality employee experience across all entities. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. HR Duties 

• Coordinate and manage the PEO relationship, including renewals, service issue resolution, escalations, quarterly business reviews, and SLA enforcement. 

• Coordinate employee-facing HR operations including onboarding, terminations, employee status changes, qualifying life events, and leave coordination. 

• Provide day-to-day employee support through clear communication, issue resolution, benefits education, and documentation. 

• Administer employee benefits across all plans, including enrollments, qualifying life events, eligibility tracking, carrier and PEO coordination, and execution of open enrollment. 

2. Payroll Processing Duties 

• Audit and reconcile payroll previews and benefit deductions; identify and correct errors in coordination with the PEO and internal stakeholders. 

• Approve and release routine payroll runs for all entities and escalate exceptions as needed. 

• Works closely with Accounts Payable Department on the processing of monthly payrolls within each entities financial system. 

3. Other

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience 

• SHRM or PHR certification preferred 

• 6-10 year HR operations experience 

• 3-5 years in benefits administration and/or PEO relationship management 

• Demonstrated experience in approving payroll 

• Proven experience managing benefits eligibility and enrollments across multiple entities or multiple benefit plan designs. 

• Experience serving as the internal owner of a PEO relationship, including issue escalation, renewals, and audit/reconciliation activities. 

Ability to type on a computer keyboard in a sitting or standing position; ability to operate telephone, photocopy, and other office equipment. Requires prolonged sitting, occasional standing, bending and lifting. Must have ability to read and comprehend hand written and typed notes or correspondence. Must have ability to be resourceful in seeking out information, anticipating consequences, and making sound judgments and decisions; ability to effectively prioritize workload; ability to analyze, initiate action, and take responsibility for outcome.

    NORMAL WORK HOURS 

    This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime compensation. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
